Love Dare Day #11
Think back to when you first became a Christian. You were so in love with God, so hungry for His presence for His voice. You couldn't stop talking about Him. He was the center of your attention and the object of your affection . Then little by little life began to pull you away. Pain, suffering, trials, rejection, persecution, work, family, busyness, pleasure, pride, sin- all these things began to take His place. A slow fade, just as we heard in the song yesterday. Our complete devotion turns to mere obligation.
In addition to refraining from negativity, *purposefully neglect an activity you would normally do so you can spend quality time with Him*. You and Him all alone. Talk to Him and then take the time to listen to what He has to say back through His word and prayer and meditation. Praise Him and delight in His presence. Pray and ask Him to forgive all that you've replaced Him with. Vow to once again be 100% devoted to Him. Find intimacy with your God today. If you have never given your heart to Jesus Christ, For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. 2 Cor. 6:2
I love you and wish you the most blessed day with Him.
"Give in to God, come to terms with him and everything will turn out just fine. Let him tell you what to do; take his words to heart. Come back to God Almighty and he'll rebuild your life. Clean house of everything evil. Relax your grip on your money and abandon your gold-plated luxury. God Almighty will be your treasure, more wealth than you can imagine. "You'll take delight in God, the Mighty One, and look to him joyfully, boldly. You'll pray to him and he'll listen; he'll help you do what you've promised. Job 22:25-27 (The Message)
